Quick couple of questions that should be easily answerable by those in the know...

As I am waiting for my phantom black with red stripe roadster to come off the production line (ETA mid sept) I assume I will be getting the 2014 model?

As such am I right in saying I wont be able to use TuneECU with it? Is it really the case it isn't supported, not even with the latest version of the Tune Library? I am well versed in TuneECU after having a KTM and cables for that so am keen on using it on the Rocket too...

If all the above is true is there anywhere I am best reading/reviewing from time to time to find out if TuneECU will be possible or is workable again etc? Any good ongoing technical postings on the subject anywhere?

I've asked Alain, who supports TuneECU, about details on this subject too and am waiting a response.

TIA,
Mark

The ECU is now "tamper proof". Wise minds are no doubt looking into ways to unlock it and I'm sure someone will come up with a solution. Of course, in the meantime you should be able to add plug and play gadgets like Dobeck to adjust fuelling.

Thanks, bit of a bugger really...but it might be a good thing as the initial idea of getting a more custom orientated bike was to slow it down and chill out a little lol.....all that torque means in theory I can take a more relaxed approach with the throttle...assuming I can overcome the temptations! Fat chance I know!!

I know of one person who has used tuneecu on a 2013 Roadster with no issues.
Not sure about 14s. Haven't seen anything to indicate the 14s are locked.

TuneECU had a August 2013 update to handle the 2013 bikes, but I think (don't know for sure) that the 2014 bikes are still locked out?

Details here: Overview
e.g.
"Triumph Rocket III (including models 2013) August 2013"

I guess worst case I'll find out in a few weeks as I have everything to hand to try it once the bike is here, but ideally I don't want to attempt it if it's a no no...

It has seemed an eternity waiting for news of the bike arriving, and it is now at the dealership! Hopefully it will be ready to take away on the 9th, with black teardrop mirrors, short sissy bar and front engine bars fitted too...

Sorted out the insurance today so just waiting on the bike.....

Might have to take the day off work on the 9th or 10th just so I get some time with the bike ;)

It's mine! Pic taken from outside the dealership before I rode off

Still waiting for engine and sissy bars to be in stock and get fitted but I have some running in to do before I use it in ernest yet anyway...I'm trying to keep 3-3.5K rpm until the first service but I've already gotten greedy for the roar a couple of times.

I'll be getting a fly screen and belly pan next month then that'll be it for the time being

I have got to say that engine is VERY tight with no miles on it, I hope it frees up fairly quickly

Ecu

Connected TuneECU to the bike today and it read the map just fine, I'll hold off on any more until the first service is over though. I've attached the hex file (map #20685) from TuneECU for a 63 plate roadster in case someone wants to take a look at it, not sure if it's available or not?

Anyone change the idle / rpm limit etc?

Oh and the speed limit value, I assume that's in kilometers? It's quite high if not at 194:
