Found these in my gas tank.....

You guys are the best! I could not find ‘em on the exploded diagram of the gas tank so I knew they had to be something added by previous owner. I suspected it was some type of gasoline additive and you have confirmed it. My rocket just lost 5 pounds!

Whew.....
for a minute there I thought you were going to say you found it on the saddle when you sat down...

As suppositories, I think they’d rate up there with gerbils of course you’d have to ask Richard Gere to be sure...

Fuel Catalyst

Fitch Fuel Catalyst
PRODUCT DETAILS
Simply drop the catalyst capsules into the fuel tank, they'll gravitate to the lowest point of the tank and will remain there treating the fuel for 250,000 miles. The Fitch unit will not bounce or rattle around because fuel acts as a hydraulic cushion that only allows the Fitch fuel catalysts to move slightly with the movement of the fuel, not the movement of the machine. The Fitch Fuel Catalyst will not harm any internal fuel tank components. The Fuel Catalyst simply improves fuel quality and cannot overcome mechanical or electrical problems.

  • Suitable for use in fuel tanks up to 10 gallons
  • Increases miles per gallon
  • Increases horsepower and torque
  • Quicker throttle response
  • Smoother running engine
  • Permanent stabilizer for off-season storage
  • Reduces or eliminates ping and engine knock
  • Allows for a lower octane fuel
  • One time application for the life of the engine
  • Good for 2 and 4 stroke engines

It is actually rather interesting technology. It stems from WW2 Russian military Aircraft.

Used them in my E-Type and reduced engine temp's dramatically.
Reduced emissions in the Diesel LandRover a bit. But I messed the doodad up by running on Sunflower Oil for a while.

Pointless in a modern Engine and with generally good modern fuels. Needs to be in a steel tank to work. Or you need a steel mesh around the plastic one.

It's snake oil. If snake oil comes in solids anyway. Any dolt knows that the lead in gas is/was tetraethyl lead which cannot be made just be soaking some lead pellets in the gas. If some elemental lead dissolves it will not do anything. If it does you will see a buff colored residue in the tailpipe and the next time you report for state inspections you will be tarred and feathered. If there is no buff colored residue there IS NO LEAD in the fuel, and none to do your valve seats any good. But on your modern engine you have hardened valve seats and do not need lead at all.
Yeah I don’t think it does much, the bsa had it in the tank when I bought it, the guy I bought the bike from claims it made a difference in the performance. Having said that, the motor was so worn I don’t know how he could tell.

If they will make my bike look as good as your BSA, i’ll throw them back in!
