For science... Have you been able to wheelie your new rocket 3?

I'm definitely not a wheelie pro, but I've tried it a few times. Not seriously weight transferring and giving the bars a yank, but giving her all it's got with clutch and throttle. All I've managed is the front tire a foot or so off the ground. That being said, I certainly skew towards the heavy side of the bathroom scale. I would imagine a light weight would have a much easier time.

I have always been a fan of keeping both wheels on the ground myself. My Hayabusa’s always pulled up on acceleration, made it fun!

I know I am a hooligan... no need to scold me. BUT, I want to be able to wheelie my new Rocket 3, however, it is not being a willing partner at this point. I'm polling this audience to hopefully find someone who has figured out the required black magic, ritual to a deity, or maybe even voodoo to eliminate the electronic gatekeeper to my fun.

So, Have you been able to wheelie your new rocket 3?

If you say "no", I feel your pain and post quarantine, I offer you 10-12 beers and a day out on the boat to quiet our misery.

If you say "yes", please describe in detail how you turned off the electronic fun police. (The answer is not just turn off traction control... at least for me, that does not work! I can pop the clutch at 4,000 RMP in first gear and it will not even hint at bringing the front tire off the ground... it just accelerates on the brink of actual 100% fun)

Thank you all!
I’ve wheelied mine many times. With a passenger it’s even easier

On my 14 in 2nd gear around 2500 rpm I could lift the front and ride it for a few seconds until I realized (in my mind) the bike will self destruct when it slams down. I felt like the front tire was 12" off the ground but in reality you could probably slip a dime between the front tire and the road.

There is a BIG difference how the older bikes wheelie compared to the new ones.
Just realized we were talking about the new ones. Yeah they’re a lot lower to the ground and seem a bit longer. But when there’s a will there’s a way. Having mine tuned with a couple of extras pushing me into the 170 hp range also makes a helps.

I brought mine up pretty high, about 3-4 feet off the ground and it didn’t go down smooth. Even after I throttled it. Fairing popped right off but the forks handles the drop pretty well.

I have let the front end of my 14 Roadster slam down more than a few times.:( What happens it jumps up so high so fast I instinctively just shut off the throttle and let it down to fast. I have ridden a few long ones on the power the whole time where it just holds at a steady throttle position. I never want it up to the balance point, its way to scary for an old geezer like me.

Yeah I won’t keep it up like the guys on dynas do. I feel ya. Getting too old to recover from a fall like a used to. Plus I’m feeling all those falls from when I was young now 🤣👴🏼
