So a buddy and I decided to go for a cruise yesterday. We stopped at a local bar to grab a bite to eat, and while we were sitting there this old guy walks up and asks which one of us has the Triumph out there. I started to panic a little thinking hes gonna tell me someone hit it or something. He must have seen this because he just starts going on a rant about how incredible the bike is and asking everything he can think of about what kind of power it has. It felt great to finally have someone approach me about my bike but my favorite part was right at the end he looks at my buddy at says "oh, your Harley is nice too but wow that Triumph..." lol. First time ive had that happen to me found it pretty amusing, thought id share

LOL get used to. I've only had mine 3 weeks and had half a dozen people want to stop & talk about it. They are definitely a conversation starter. Around here you see wild custom Harleys and choppers an a regular basis, but I've never seen another Triumph, let alone a Rocket.

Enjoy it now while you can, your gonna get tired of it.

Welcome from Australia. Yep, I've been getting a bit of that as well even people taking photos.

Yes, get use to it. Not only that, but people want to chat and go on about how they once had a Bonneville back in the sixties and that they did not know Triumph made rocket's or even that they are still in business. On and on and so forth.

I have had several people ask me if my bike is old.... Not sure why. They are blown away when I tell them its a 2012. They always seem to think that triumph hasn't made a bike for 30 or 40 years. Very strange.

When i tell people about what i have i have gotten the "so who makes Triumph these days?" Apparently they think someone is just using the name

Triumph and especially R3s are few and far between around my neck of the woods. There are some beyond the casual cyclist who know what my bike is, and most of them seem to think it's too much bike for them to handle. Most people think my Rocket is a "Harley" or a "Hog", when they refer to it as such I am quick to educate them. The R3 is always sure to draw conversation from people whether they know what it is or not. I have visited the local Harley dealership along with some of my riding buddies who ride H-Ds and every time I do the floor salesmen ask me about it, and comment on how sharp it looks. Even though I have antisocial tendencies, I doubt I will get tired of talking to people about my bike. Exclusivity is just another perk of having an R3. When I got my Rocket a couple of years ago, a co-worker asked me "why didn't you get a Harley?". I gave him the short answer...I told him "Because I didn't want to be like everybody else". GO YOUR OWN WAY!
