First ride on a rocket what were your impressions

My first ride on a Rocket was riding my new bike home from the dealer. I had booked a day off work but wouldn't you know it the temperature dropped to -1 and I had to ride it home in the cold with a few flakes of snow swirling around. I was glad to get home and sit on the bike in my warm garage!

My boss bought one because one of his friends had one and let him ride it. So he bought one and brought it to work and mentioned to me I need to ride this Rocket it will put a big ole smile on your face. I took his for a ride and decided I need one of these so that all of my buddies that ride Harleys will have something to shoot for while they are at the local dealership laying down large amounts of cash for there big bore kits. Had my first R3 delivered to my house in New Jersey from a dealer in upstate NY. I've ridden every style of bike known to man over the past 30 years but nothing like this. I fired up the Rocket for the first time, went to turn the corner at the end of block... and HOLY S***!! peak torque kicked in just over 2k and my turn went real wide real fast... almost wrecked it!! Laughing my ass off, I rounded the corner... slowed down to about 15mph... slammed the fun grip... lit that tire up down the street laughing all the way. I've been smiling ever since, and that was in 2008!!!

Wouldn't mind a Harley Street or Fat Bob in the garage, but reckon I'd like a Bonney Bopbber better!

In my case back in 2010 I saw the "How Do They Do That" episode on Triumph Rocket 3 and was in aah by the information that was provided. And soon after I saw a blue/blue 09 Touring on the internet and it was full blown LOVE. I printed a copy and framed it putting up on my desk. Telling everyone who asked that was to be my next motorcycle usually meet with chuckles since there was no Triumph Dealer in the area. After two + years of dreaming, drooling and searching for my dream Rocket a Triumph Dealer was now in town. Went by one Saturday and test rode and almost wrecked a brand new 2012 black/cream Touring leaving the parking lot having to drag my right leg to regain control then jumped on the expressway and feel hopelessly head over heals in love except for the limited color scheme of the 2012 models. So I keep looking finally finding a 09 Blue/Blue Touring just like the picture I had in my office in Austin with more chrome and only 2270 miles. This is where I get "See One, Ride One, Buy One" I think Triumph should start using that as the pitch line for the Rocket 3.

Just my story
