First ride on a rocket what were your impressions

Kinda hard to negotiate with a HUGE grin on your face. I never ride one.....just knew when I saw it,it was for ME.

Have to admit, I was like "me. . This is alright.. I guess.."

After spending 2 years on 1100 v twin learner bike with restricted learner license just waiting for my served time to be up so I could get a rocket, I was disappointed

Yeah it was cool (getting back on the 1100 felt like a gay pedal bike after the rocket) but nowhere near what I'd hoped for.

6 months later I'd fitted the carpenter 240 stuff..
 
Bought it on eBay with a best offer sight unseen. Picked up my '10 R3R at Moss Vale a bit over a 100mile away near dark and rode back home that night. First impression on a 50 metre wobble to and around the round-about was where the f..k are the foot pegs (as I had never ridden a cruiser and have a Sprint ST1050), and soggy handling - very under-impressed. First impressions improved markedly after stopping to fuel up a kilometre down the road and finding just 23lb in the tires instead of 36-40lb.

New suspension all round a month later was a revelation. Praise the Lord! (going by my recent thread this could be a theme, I better get some biscuits and tea ready for the next Mormons, Jehovahs or Adventists who knock on the door! )

WELL in the cruiser world the ROCKET has the biggest most powerful engine that can make another 40 to 50 HP with a just a pipe and retune and that it is the king of the big cruiser class as the engine is the heart of any motorcycle and we know it can be modded to make 265 RWHP if you want to crush the SUPERBIKES the V twins cant compete with those old air cooled donkeys they need new engines to compete with the ROCKET
 
The wife and i test rode the r3r and now we both own one each love the power and handling
 
My wife and went on a long ride with some friends who ride harleys. We were on my sprint ST. After an all day ride we were both a little sore (we are in our 40's).
I mentioned it might be time for a cruiser and she said may be.

I had known about the rocket for awhile. Found a used one in Tennessee but wanted to ride one before I made a six hour drive to get it. Cincinnati triumph had an R3T on the floor.

I only rode it around the parking lot. My first thought was this is huge. Then I put it in fifth at ten miles an hour. It did not even flinch and just pulled up to 30 ( I was in a parking lot).

Ended up getting a better deal on the left over 2014 last year that I test road. 13 grand out the door.
Rode it home and have not quit grinning since.
My Harley friends love it. I used to live in Wisconsin. Just thirty miles from the Harley factory. You could not sling a dead cat and not hit 30 harleys. I love having a different bike with all the heritage of Harley and more.
 
I had recently dumped a lot of money into my 2011 Road Glide Ultra which I had owned since it was new. I had painted it a custom copper color I like and I had recently installed cams. I appreciated the new power but it had me wanting more. Over the years I had created what I thought was the ultimate road couch and I loved the comfort and power. One ride on the rocket and I traded that bike in without a second thought. I now have a small list of mods I wish to perform on the rocket but power adding is on the end of the list. I love this bike.
 
I had blown up my lowrider with 6k in performance mods for the 2nd time and sat on the R3r, being 5'8" it felt big, wide, and top heavy besides being the ugliest thing on 2 wheels (that chrome radiator blew) so I bought a Storm and thought I was in cruiser paradise, while waiting on my Storm for service or tires I asked for a test ride on an 06 R3 that just came in, I rode it found you guys who collectively told me to ignore the bikes habit of jumping out of gear, shift harder and enjoy, and I did. The R3 is the 1 bike I see myself going back to.
