First Impressions Darkside R3T

Darkside General Altimax

So Elvis, how do you feel about your new General Tire?
And Laraza, Do you think you made the right decision and are still happy with yours?
I just bought a General Altimax H 205 /60/ 16, but I will not be putting it on until the spring.

Feels better every time I take her out :D Must admit I did wonder if I'd done the right thing for a bit but those doubts have gone ;)

Six years of riding the Rocket the only issue i have had is tires. I've spent a small fortune threw the years replacing them. I've been thinking of changing over to the dark side for along time, but just haven't been able to come to grips with the change. I ride the beast like a sport bike fast and hard and i'm no light weight. RiderRocketman i consider to be the pioneer and most experienced on the dark side,he has spent a lot of time and miles on the car tire. This is just one of many videos he's posted riding on the c/t.If anyone is qualified to answer your questions it would be him.. SPORT Riding on the Darkside - Triumph Rocket III - YouTube

tires

Thank you Triick for the video, but I have seen it before.
Just so that you are aware, this thread is talking about the Rocket 3 Touring, it uses a completly different tire size than any of the other rockets.
It also handles differently than a Roadster or Classic or whatever.

Car Tire for Me???Not likely

I am on my 3rd set of Metzlers and 34,500+ miles on my 08 R3T..hope to hit 36,000 and plan replacement in March-April(4000 on those recalled Bridgestones,10000+ on two sets of Metz and now close to 11000 on this set)..will be watching and reading about C/T and Metzlers..For the life of me,I cannot figure how some of you guys get only 4000-5000 on your rear tire???Are the tire salesmen reccomending replacement??I replace both as a convenience thing so that I have good/safe rubber for the upcoming season and average close to 11000 miles per year.....Not sold on the C/T yet but I am openminded..don't see much of an advantage when I get the milage out of my Metzlers(We live in the Evergreen State..hence Rain-Rain-Rain!!!!Avon are not a good rain tire..Also while in Arizona last June I upped my tire pressure 2-3 pounds to compensate for the heat.
