Are the "retaining cams" the receiving part that mounts on the bags? If so, great- then you can mount whatever bags you choose. This is what I've been looking for.

No, to attach your bag to the brackets if not using their bags you will need an adapter plate. One of these:

What's the chance that the female ends on that plate would fit the male knobs on the stock Triumph brackets? If not, wondering if you could change the knobs on the stock brackets to match. You'd surely have to move the female receptors on the plate around to fit, but that might be a doable way to use the stock brackets with other bags.

Remove receptors and relocate to fit Triumph brackets....
