Just a question "probably a stupid one " when switching out your exhaust system do you need any kind of sealant for the joins ?

I had to get one new exhaust gasket myself.
They're kind of expensive for the 4 gaskets,
but you gotta have them and they do seal themselves as they get hotter...
Most can be reused most times, but occasionally I have to get a new one.
Now the header gaskets are a different story.
I'm talking about from the header to the mufflers and the bypass.

I guy round the corner from my work had a full set of staintunes for sale with cat bypass for"$300" yes that's rite $300 so my brother was nice enough to snap them up for me . They should go well with the new headers I'm buying from Sam ;)

WOW, that was one hell of a buy!!! I have staintune mufflers with cat bypass. The slip joints on mine were nice and snug and required no seal or sealant. I have no decel poping at all. I did install new triumph head pipe gaskets when I installed my custom header. I guess I could have reused the old ones but they look like copper and they crush when setting the torque on the nuts on the head pipe.

Yeah i dont think the guy realised they wher stainless he said they wher on the bike when he bout it .
He put shortys on his bike and droped the entire staintune system off in one piece so all i had to do was the same with the Tors i had on and then bolt his straight up to the headers and all was sweet. I couldnt believe he only wanted $300 and he even left his heatshields on the sides of the silencers so now i have a spare set :D
