Its between 4 and 5 O'clock next the the thermostat housing. You will need to modify a socket to take it out. Needs a groove cut in it to clear the hrsness wires. You will have to lift the throttle bodies up and tie them to the handle bar. (QUICKER THEN PULLING THEM) And you will be removing the oil tank so yoy have to pull the long oil plug out of the bottom to drain the tank. Unless your tsnk leaks down then let it . Also drain coolant so the head it empty.
Out of curiosity, do you know what size the socket is? I am going to grab one from Harbor Freight and modify it while I am waiting for the parts to come in.

it sounds like u like working on the bike:thumbsup:
however if u had the tuneacu it would save u a lot of guessing. your overheating sounds a lot like my experience. when i checked mine with tunecu i found that for some reason the computer had raised the temp value that the computer turns on the fan and i think that is why u overheated while idling.
with the tunecu i reset mine to its lowest value and the comp turns on the fan around 200 degrees.
i think that if there was a problem with the temp sensor that the computer would set a code. some of the rockets had problems with the temp connector and they set a code. u can research them.

I have Tune ECU, I will check tomorrow. I know for sure the radiator cap needed to be replaced. I've already got the parts, so I'm going to replace them anyway.
Thanks for the heads up, I haven't thought of that. I have next to 0 experience with Tune ECU software on a galaxy tablet.

@Super D.

I just installed the Viking header and midpipe AND got a custom tune and mine is INSANELY hot as well...My tuner even commented about it saying he doesn't know how I will ride the bike that way.

If you get yours sorted please let me know...I am in the same boat as you and don't want to cover up that sexy as hell header.

What year is your bike? If you get a minute, send me the temp reading at the top of the header. I am sorting through my cooling system now. If that doesn't fix it.... I'll keep trying to figure it out.

I have a heat gun. Should I turn the bike on for a few minutes, let it idle and get a reading?
