Exhaust and Download

Thanks all. Maybe its time to give it a try.

Listen.... I felt the same way as you but there isn't anything to it. I have a 2010 and have tried a few different tunes and fixing try another one. I really don't think you will have a problem just don't go to lean. You stick with the already made tunes you will be alright. You do have a option of creating your own tunes but I would do that just yet. I say go for it other wise. You'll be able to raise the rev limiter..... plus over just taking it to the dealer. You'll be able to raise the speed limiter to 190 MPH .... plus over taking it to the dealership.

Please post a few places to get the cable. Please detail which cable to get.

I ordered mine from Lonelec (british company). But if you go to the TuneECU website tuneecu.com, they have a "link" section which will take you to several sites where you can buy (TuneECU - Links). You can get them off amazon and ebay too, but I was willing to pay the extra $5 to get one I knew was compatible. :D

I was very leary at first of doing anything which could essentially "kill" the bikes brains. But after doing it, found out it was a lot of worry over nothing. A very simple process!!
Here's a great "how to" video on youtube. TuneECU (free TuneBoy) software demo on Triumph Tiger 1050 SE - YouTube

If you can plug an outlet into a wall, you can plug the cable in. If you can open windows, select a link, and click ok, you can navigate through TuneECU...I promise :D
He does a lot of extra things in the video to show some of the things you can do with it. But it's really, read the map on the ECU, save map, open new map (sent by a friendly rocket rider), upload new map. power off, power on, reset complete, disconnect. Run the bike :D
If nothing else, download the program, tab through it a bit (without hooking up to bike), and see if it still seems too cosmic. If so, enjoy the day riding (with a dealer stop thrown in there somewhere) :D
There's also a step by step written instruction on here too? TuneECU How To sticky Link Removed
