I'm looking for a better tool to make timing changes to my IC SC R3 than just the dyno step tests. The small changes we've made so far have improved torque, but I need a better way to detect detonation as we approach the timing limits. To that end, I'm looking at TFX Engine Technology using engine pressure data.
TFX Engine Technology Inc. manufactures/sells engine combustion pressure analysis tools for both dyno and in-engine applications. They offer intake/exhaust port, and spark plug pressure sensors which allow the tuner to record the instantaneous pressures (per crank degree) in the intake and exhaust ports during engine operation. The combustion analyzer records actual pressure spikes. This would seem an extremely valuable asset when trying to evaluate cams, intake runners and exhaust headers... and ignition timing.

Any recommendations or experience with this type tool would be appreciated.
