Engine noise question

Sorry for the second post about the bike I checked out today, but something else came to mind.

At idle, there's a slight ticking noise. The guy was nice enough to let me ride it and I didn't notice it then, only at idle. The bike has less than 6500 miles on it so I don't "think" it's an issue. It kinda sounded like the GSX-R motors we ran in the dwarf cars when the air cleaner was off, so I was thinking it was a similar deal resonating thru that crazy intake system.

What say you people smarter than I?

Speedy fixed a few ticking bikes at RAA... can be as simple as header bolts needing to be snugged up because of exhaust leak... but again many things going on and can be something else...

That could be; looked like there was a little soot around one of the header flanges.
