on april 28 I was involved in a collision with an SUV on a major artery in kelowna BC . in short a SUV crossed right into my lane which was a turning lane and before the intersection in doing so the SUV knocked me down and I crashed onto an entrance to a small plaza ( the suv was turning right onto that entrance) although speed was not a concern the fall caused damages . somehow the contact with asphalt sheared the left gear and footpeg from the engine block and part of the block at the mounting broke off making impossible to re-install bolts into the block the only solution was to buy the footpeg kit that mount closer to the position on the R model which is ok by me
however once done we found the gear change rod jammed , the electronic display indicate that the bike is in first gear and nothing will make a gear change possible the only solution left is to remove the engine and open the gearbox assembly to see what is the problem I saw a video of a gearbox wide open and the problem then was a semi loose bolt of the gear changer cylinder in the case !!!! an independant mechanic is willing this fall to take my engine out and open the bearbox assembly to see what hold the shifter jammed . .
of all the quote he is the most reasonable in price still $4500 is a hard pill to swallow . and since my insurance ( government insurance) claim I am responsible I am not getting a penny...so this is the end of season for me..unless somebody has a miracle cure

How are you responsible?
BEATS ME the video cam submitted by a car's owner show me passing the car with camera from the right side and carrying on on the right of the SUV I guess the 'ASSESSOR' " only saw me passing on the right (same lane) but the marking on the ground are not visible I submitted my own video shot the next day showing the dotted line of the passing lane on the right of the SUV . they made up their mind and not willing to admit they were too quick to find me guilty it has been 3 months and despite my repeated emails dead silence from the government insurance

i would check to see if anything is jamming it on the outside.
like take everything off the lever then try to move the shifter while rocking the bike back and forth.
