Dutch Rocket X

Do not look narrowed - just mated to better bag support.

As @ozrider stated:
"Had a play with the EZ bracket as I wanted to use the OEM sadde bags and mount so did abit of cutting & welding.
They sit at the same height and only about 10mm further out from stock."

To fit the Easy Brackets with the OEM pannier support frames without cutting the frames the Easy Brackets would be completely on the inner (wheel) side of the pannier frames - that must be at least 0.5". Ii know mine stick out heaps. Easy to bring them in without any pannier support frames at all, but I like the chrome cages that fix to the frames and they do support the leather bags better.

Welcome Hennie from Maine, USA, sounds like you have good plans, I like to ride naked too, plan of taking the windshield off and bags off when not touring, love the wind in my face, but not for hours on end while touring, bugs and rain beg for a windshield.

Hoopla

I have the OEM leather bags and was looking at either Ghost Brackets, or I guess they're called Edge brackets now, or the EZ brackets.
Seems like everyone is pretty happy with the easy brackets?
One question I had was are there any issues using EZ brackets with the triumph bags? But it appears there isn't.
-How are the actual locks on the brackets....good?
-
How much further out do the bags sit, without the stock frames installed?
-
And..., do they need the frames, or is it fine to install without the frames? Especially since they sit on them too.

I have used Easy Brackets for 13 years on two different cruisers.
They are terific, better than the Ghost IMHO.
I recommend fabricating an aluminum plate (I used .050") to fit the inside of the bags for additional support and to keep the bags from tilting inward.

Thanks 1olbull, i think Easy Brackets is the direction I'm gonna go. And I'll keep the plate idea in mind if needed. Easy enough to do.

I don't know if these come stock with the factory bags but mine have a 'plastic' or plexi type full sized backing plate, little less than maybe .125"-.100" I'd guess. So mounted the factory way the fasteners go through this plate. And they have a thin plastic type liner around the bag and lid. Again don't know if that's stock or was added to the bags by previous owner.

My consern mainly was so I need the original frame, especially if all that support stuff was added after.
And looking at the location of the front support, it looks too close to the edge of the bag for the ez brackets. I guess I could move the bags forward some but it starts to interfere with the passenger if you go to much. But I do ride solo most of the time anyway.

Welcome from X118!! Kinda ended up with the X for the same reasons. Right time and right color. Plus I bought it used and it came with bags, touring seat, crashbars, sissybar/luggage rack. Saved me the time of doing it myself. And they were already blacked out.

So sorry!
My motor has one seat only - Hooray for me and screw you!
