The Herd

Thank you for the compliments. The fact is you are not looking at a great deal of money involved for the herd. Other than the R3 which was bought new in 2005, the TBS and Scrambler were all picked up used at excellent prices. Insurance is not bad because I am old and other than tags and normal maintenance they are well worth the expenses for the sheer fun and joy they provide.......

Britman , both the T/Bird Sport and to a lesser degree the Scrambler are sought after models .. and therefore expensive machines here in Austraia. Good T/Bird Sports range from $5- $8k AUD.... and they don't come up for sale all that often.

It was my hunt for the Thunderbird about 10 years ago that led me cruisers, strangely enough. I'd found one not far from here and went down to look at it. When I got there someone was test riding, came back and bought it on the spot. If I'd been half an hour earlier...... Anyway, he also had a few cruisers on the lot so I rode a couple of those. Decided that I liked the riding position (once I'd found the pegs - who can forget their first ride on a cruiser?) and soon after bought a Kawasaki. Triumph cruisers didn't appeal; America, while lovely, was too small, and the Rocket was, well, just stupid.

Strangely enough, it was arrival of the T'Bird 1600 that led me to the Rocket. Similar story. Someone else was test riding it when I turn up to do the same so I took a Rocket for a spin........:D

Check this TBS out.
