Dreaded Paint Can Rattle

I've almost got 5k miles on mine now. I think I'll try the heavier grade oil (15w50)Triumph recommends when I change it. That should help some I would think.

It is a very large motor, running about 3 feet from your ears. I'd guess if you stuck your head under the hood of your car you'd find it makes at least as much noise as the Rocket.

A good set of custom fit ear plugs will certainly fix your problem. And if you're not wearing ear plugs, just wait a few years, you won't be able to hear the noise anyway.

Oh, and from what I've been told, the 2008 and later motors are not susceptible to the 'paint can rattle' issue.

I believe everything made after 11/07 has the upgraded stuff in it.

The service manager said the same thing(s).

I am going to try the next grade thicker oil though.
