Does Triumph build Rocket 2020's in UK?

Just assumed my new GT was manufactured in England, however a VIN lookup reveals point of mfg in CHONBURI, THAILAND. So I guess my last truly British bike was my cherished and long sold Norton Commando. Just one of a long list of bikes I wished I'd retained but not being Jay Leno couldn't afford a garage with a staff.
The two bikes I had together before this were BMW and MotoGuzzi, both made entirely in their respective countries. I think as mentioned earlier excellent engineering and strict quality control at the point of mfg are probably the best hope for a really good bike.
Did you have a first gen Rocket 3 before you bought the 2020 model? It's funny, I kick myself in the ass too for selling things I should have kept. Like a KTM 950 Super Enduro R and before that, a '69 Plymouth Roadrunner.

About 5 years ago my dealer loaned me a Rocket III demo over the weekend while my BMW was being serviced. I liked it a lot but wasn't looking for that type of ride at the time. I'm almost 67 yo now and my ride preferences have changed. I've ridden the Super Duke but not the Super Enduro. Loved the Duke but was concerned if I submitted to my inner speed demon I would end up dead or in jail. The 69 Roadrunner was a hell of a muscle car.

Interesting how our preferences change as we get older. I have a first gen Ducati Hypermotard. Great hooligan bike, but I find myself wanting to ride my Rocket mostly.

The VIN decoder says my Rocket 3 GT was made in MANAUS BRAZIL!
Yeah, and mine's made in 2005 in the UK :) Must be a very early prototype i got my hands on.. Or the VIN decoder is random in its decisions.

But according to this page, it was made in the UK... so I guess I’ll stick with that ;-)

The first two letters in my VIN are SM, and the decoder I used stated S is for United Kingdom and M is for Asia with the build location being Thailand. So, does this mean my R3 was built in Thailand at a Triumph factory by Thai workers trained in the UK, OR, built in the UK by British workers who after their shift would go to the pub and drink Singha beer??? It would appear that the greater the bureaucracy the less clear the documentation.
I took one of those well advertised DNA tests that supposedly shows ones ancestry. It showed me to be of diverse European ancestry, English, Irish, Dutch, French, German, and Scandinavian descent. This leads me to believe my forebears pretty much mated with anyone who would hold still long enough. Given that, my new R3 GT has Triumph badging on the tank, wheels and so forth and I'm taking it on faith that in it's bones and DNA it is distinctly British, regardless of where it was assembled.
You all now have some insight into my thought process for which I offer my deepest condolence.

Found this in one of the Triumph Technical Bulletins ...
