Do you have to remove the gas tank to install triple K&N's ?

Remove, no. Prop up, yes.

to answer your other question, stand on the right side of the bike (facing forward), raise the front of the tank a few inches and you will see the prop attached to some clips just above the coils on the frame rail. The metal end goes into the hole where the screw fits and the plastic end fits onto the tank tab. Make sure that your tank is at least 1/2 empty (less than 1/2 full for you optimists) or you may end up with gas on the floor.

There's plenty of room, but you have to turn the bars away from which ever side you're working from, that's all) Even doing it slowly, it will take less than an hour, but the smiles as you crack open the throttle will last MUCH longer :lol:

took the tank off when I put the K+N's on (more room) just make sure you tighten the feul banjo bolt tight enough when refixing (doin't ask:whistle

i was going to ask: "Did you heat up the old ones first, or just put them back as they were?"
then I looked up "anneal".

funny thing, never thought of it before and just yesterday I got the same tip from the shop where I bought oil and filter to my Land Rover Defender.
they didn't have any washer to go with the plug so they gave me the advice to heat it up first. we don't have "anneal" in Sweden
