Do I still need a tune from HansO?

I'm looking forward to seeing the figures as it's the same mods as mine when I finally get around to installing the ram air. I'll be using a Hanso map for a while but do plan on a dyno map at some point. I've found a company that are happy to use TuneECU in Withernsea, East Yorkshire. I was under the impression that the main guy is experienced at mapping, but not very experienced with TuneECU (he asked me if you could live map, wouldn't be asking if he was experienced). He was still happy to do it without live mapping. I'm just not sure if the lack of experience is relevant or if I should find someone else to get the best out of it.
Use a tuner who is familiar with the R3 and knows their little foibles. There are tuners and there are tuners . A good one will tune for longevity and economy rather than eeking out every pony at the expense of your engine and wallet . An experienced tuner will tell you the figures you can expect before he even touches the bike !

Any recommendations? I'm more than happy to take a long ride and get a premier inn to make a long weekend of it if necessary. As long as I can set off after breakfast and be there for an evening meal I'm happy. What your describing sounds like one in a million?

Baloo, my bike is booked in with Dyno Tech on Saturday 17th February and is staying for the week with collection due on Saturday 24th. Will report back on the experience and the results once known. All sounds good but the proof is in the pudding as they say!!

is that in Ripley? That's easily doable if it is.

Thanks for all your very informative replies. I’m going to discuss all the options with him before he starts.

Yes, I’m very lucky I found him. He was recommended to me by a work colleague. There was another closer to me, but he doesn’t do TuneECU.

I’ll post up the results after it’s done, but that might be some time from now.
