brake pads

I replaced my back pads on the weekend. Had to go to Palm Bay Dealer over 100 miles away, or wait 3 days for order. I needed to let the carbon out anyway ha ha!! 8600 miles. Stealer offer an hours labour to install something that takes about 5 minutes to complete.

Well, being as that brake wear has more to do with usage and not mileage, you should also state what kind of riding you do and how you use your brakes.

My front pads were replaced at 12k miles. I'm still on my original rear set at over 17k miles. I use my rears very little and am fairly light on my fronts because of how I brake (controlled modulating/pumping instead of the constant "stomp"). May be 70% of my mileage is highway so there's another reason I don't need to replace pads often.
