Delayed Oil Pressure

My R3T had the same problem, was fixed by replacing the sender unit.

The sensor is about the size (and look) of a spark plug but much thinner, and fits in the rear of the engine.

MY SYMPTOMS:
Oil light stays on when first started (cold), after about a minute the light got out, then
Oil light works as it should (stays out) for quite a while (say for about a tank of fuel), then
Oil light turns on and off in seemingly random times for the remainder of the ride.
My symptoms are similar except is does not turn on after it goes out. It does keep getting longer to go out each time I turn bike off and then go to start it again. I am going to check over weekend and make sure connections are good and if so, off to the dealer I go.

New observation. Removed opil cap while idling. Oil moving in tank. Looks like pump is working but light is still on.

Yes mine progressively stayed on longer on first start up also. Looks like this is going to be an R3T thing, as there have been a few faulty sender units now.

You can if you can make it fit. Someone posted a pictorial somewhere on these boards of just that.

Looks like my problem is loose wire connecting to sensor. The sensor is on the back of the head and I can just reach it with one finger. Wiggled the wire going to it and now it works like it should. Goes out immediately after starting the bike. Going to dealer Saturday to have replaced under warranty.
