Deer and other dumb animals

It was 6:30 in the evening. Still 3 1/2 hrs of daylight. I will put whistles on the bike from now on. If given the choice I don't like riding in the dark.
What really concerns me are the bears. A bear ran into our Honda..... CIVIC a number of years ago. The thought of hitting a bear makes me slow down at night.
I should have clarified a little better. Here, the deer will move generally the same time, 5:00- 6:00am, 5:90-6:30pm. In fall when they are in Rut,it’s dawn and dusk rule, which coincides with the times.....Eastern Daylight Time. Heat sometimes plays a factor, because they don’t generally move when it’s hot.
Moose however, don’t discriminate, they move at ALL hours, always check with locals in the area, they KNOW where to look for them. When I was fueling up in NFLD,some lads came up and told me where to pay particular attention on my route.

My wife and I have gotten 3 deer apiece here in NY. Where I'm moving to in Florida they have feral hogs, I saw a dead one by the side of the road, they're big, sure wouldn't want to hit one of them

And be VERY careful. They will chase and try to gore you. .45 fixes that.

Closest I've come luckily was on the Rocket, I made a split second decision to hit the throttle instead of the brake, just missed me, if I had hit the brake it would have given it enough time to get in front of me.

Let's see, for my stickers, I will need three birds, a squirrel, a rabbit, a deer and a mountain.

I'm thinking about putting deer stickers on side of my tank similar to WW2 airplanes putting kills on the side of their planes
About half of the 55,000 miles on the bike has been done at night. One brush up with a deer. Two coyotes, four raccoons, and several possums. Been lucky and have not dumped it yet. Daymakers have saved my butt several times. Do keep it under 60 MPH on the ride home from work but that is just common sense.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
