Dealer Servicing? How Crucial?

Of all the upgrades I've done. The progressive front spring swap with 7 weight oil is at the top!!!

My Intruder got near 40000 miles before the fork got re oiled. It were plenty bouncy though, so I knew it was time. I also will throw some Progressive springs in my Rocket when ever I get around to opening the fork on it.

Repeatedly check and tighten all bolts for the first 6 month to year!
Oil change to full Syn at 500 miles. Save copious quantities of money by doing your own services!

I'm afraid you're a little out of date. Go with this one, especially the valve clearance check.

I would probably get my 1st service done by the dealer to get the first stamp but I've never used a dealer for any of my services, I do it myself. Saying that ,it all depends on your ability, your toolkit an your confidence. Some of us have been working on bikes most of our life and some of us have been working on plumbing.

Thanks for all the advice mates. My engine has a small leak behind the bearclaw, not enough to make it to the ground, will have them check that at the 500, as soon as I find out where my closest dealer is. It seems they have figured out the battery issue- it starts in the cold now! Stay tuned for pics of when I get my dual SuperTrapps on this beast.
