you talking about my tire her3tic? I've heard that that's high for a car tire on a motorcycle, but it works fine for me... but I don't do twisties too often either, and when I do, I may be a little slower than others, but that would be the same no matter what tire I'm on.

Thanks all for the information. Crazyman, did you have to make an adjustment to your speedo for the 205/60/16. I will have to try it out. I have my doubts though. I didn't even like it much when My Avon Storm ST started to get squared off. Of course that was on a sport bike that was being leaned over alot farther than a rocket can even go. Again, Thanks

No adjustment on the speedo. In fact, it seemed slightly more accurate. I generally go by the gps speedo.

A little more research and info

After perusing the internet (WOW! do I love that tool) I found that those who have crossed over love to write about their experience. The guy who writes the "Life is a road" books has a site and he has written quite an article about his life as a darksider. He uses the Goodyear Assurance triple tread in 205/60/16 on a Valkyrie. I was able to find out that they are available in 195/60/16. I looked and I've found quite a few for sale. Tire rack has them.

He writes pretty well and there is a lot of good information on the site for anyone interested in the dark side.

I was speaking to the 740 value. I believe that is the same as what was once the Tread Wear Rating. That, 740, is like an 80k mileage rating. I wouldn't think it would warm up necessarily on wet winding roadways whether it was warm or cool. As long as you keep it as usual, and I know how you are:) You'll live a long time:D

What is the minimum tread width for an 8" wide rim. I believe Id be happy with the 205.
