If you can show me a couple of pieces of evidence (not just anecdotes) that a car tire (not a rider) has "endangered" others, or has come off the rim etc, etc, then I will certainly do some investigation to see if I should reassess my opinion of car tires.

I have a mate in Seattle whose sole job is as an accident investigator all over the US. He has not seen any motorcycle accidents attributable to car tires. Of course, he does not see "every" accident, so it's quite possible that some have occurred, but he believes he would have been made aware of them. Now that's a "fact".

Without any real evidence to the contrary, all the claims of the danger of car tires are a bit hollow and simply don't stack up. As for tire engineers saying you shouldn't do it, don't forget we were told by IT engineers that planes would most likely fall out of the sky if they were flying at one minute past midnight on 31st December 1999. Real experience showed otherwise.

If he didn't fall off why does this have any more relevance than someone on a bike tire cornering past their ability, losing traction and sliding into the opposing lane. Amazing as it sounds, this has indeed been reported on one or two occasions

I am still waiting for a single "fact" to support your claim that car tires are unsafe, so I can look to reevaluate my own perception.
