DARK SIDE WANA BE

Well, been at it all morning, only got one side of old tire off. Kicked my 67 yr old butt big time! plus my 12" tire spoons suck. Gonna take it to my buds tire store when new tire gets here tomorrow! I give up! If only that ****ed rim had more of a drop in the center...... oh well.

When it comes to busting tires, I take my rims to a Honda shop in Tulsa. They do a great job and have never had a problem. They only charge $20.00 a tire which is a good deal. Every time I go in they try to sell me a Honda Goldwing. It has become part of the routine every time I show up. I do balance my own tires. IMG_0141.JPG Works rather well.

Oh well. You get the valor badge and new yard art to display. Have a few myself. It a fun and challenging hobby.

After eating and cooling off, I'm gonna go cut the bead on the old tire, and get it off. I'm a hard headed old fart.
Managed to get a big screwdriver wedged between the bead and the rim, so I wouldn't cut the rim, and cut that puppy with my cutoff wheel. Rim will have a few battle scars, but then it will match me!
BTW "Ride-on sealant does not plug 1/4" bolt holes! Ha!
UPS will be here any minute, and I might start phase 2, or maybe wait till tomorrow.

@cootertwo if you take a strap and run it through one of the spokes on the wheel and one of the arms on the tire machine and anchor somewhere it will stop the wheel from slipping.

lol, I had the same problem. Used a dremel to cut the tire off. Steel cord is tough! Had to have my wife help me get the new tire on.

I dunno yet. Been reading and reading. I have some moly grease, not sure of the content. Also have some Caterpillar "never sieze". might just mix the 2 and goop it on. Still finding different opinions on doing the axle first, 4 tube nuts last, visa versa. I'm planning on just finger tight the 4 tube nuts, then torque the axle, then the 4 nuts. Right? or wrong? Almost as much controversy as going darkside!!!!! Wish this was as dirt simple as my 2 hardley's. And when I get the Rocket back together, I have 2 new Michelin Pilots to mount on my Kawasaki ZRX1200r. "NO rest for the wicked";):banghead::(:)
