Broken back, a lot of work in the future
Sorry to hear of your mishap hope your recovery goes well and do take it slowly and dont rush the rehab.
Been there, broke mine in two places 9 years down the track and I reckon it is as strong as ever, still get the odd bad day when it aches but I was not going to vegetate like doctors were suggesting I do in stead I joined a gym ( first time in my life) stayed a member till I strengthened my core muscles and learnt how to strengthen my back with out excessive weights, now a days I just routinely do my Core Muscle exercises to keep my self strong

Hang in there...life's gonna suck for a while but it will get better. Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Stephan, been away for a few days; hope you have a speedy recovery!!

Keep your eye on the ball - the time and work will pass and you'll be back on the bike before you know it.

I've been there myself - so I can understand what you're going through. I had a 2 level cervical discectomy and fusion in October, 2004. Was off the bike a total of 14 months (5 months prior to surgery - 9 months after) . The weekend I was released from Dr's care, I went out and bought a new bike.

Good luck with your recovery.
