Does anyone out there with a R3T have the Corbin Solo Seat? I was thinking about getting one, and I am curious about how people like it, and does it set you any further back in the seat.
I have one. Seating position is similar to the Triumph Solo saddle, but the seat itself is noticeably smaller. The Triumph seat appears taller and wider than the Corbin. The Corbin may have a bit longer seating surface.
The Corbin is a considerably harder seat than the Triumph Solo seat, which itself offers more support than the stock dual seat. Some people find the Corbin too hard. I've had them on other bikes and I find that the harder Corbin seat is more comfortable after 5-6 hours than a softer seat.

Thanks Harry. I am looking to try and move back a couple of inches. Which one do you think would be the best for this? The Corbin looked like it would put me back about an inch or so... With the stock 2 up seat, I practically have the "jewels" resting on the tank, and can't really move back too much. Just looking for an inch or so without having to do a complete redo.

I had 1 1/2 inches skimmed off of my seat and then a "shelf" built in so that I wouldnt slide back into passenger,etc.Costs $120 at an upholestery shop here in Kent..any reputable upholstery shop can do this(look for boat,kitchen nooks,car seats,etc).I am pleased as it lowered seat and increased handling and has been comfortable for 400 mile days..You might like to attempt this solution before letting loose of $600 plus.

I did something similar to three stock Touring seats (the original one, the Triumph solo seat and another one I found on eBay). A local MC uphosterer created almost new custom seats for me. MUCH different than anything I could have bought for the same $$$.
About $375-400 for modifying all three seats. Well worth it so far!
I've uploaded photos of my Road Sofa he made for me. Blue marshmallow jobbie. Super comfortable with a lip rising in the back to lean up against.

I'd guess you're about right on the inch or so difference for the Corbin. I just shipped my Triumph seat out FedEx or I'd compare the two.
Note the Corbin measurements state that the seating position is 13 inches long. Measuring mine, that is from the front edge of the seat to the crease at the back where the rise begins. You should be able to measure your stock seat for comparison.

I have a Young Guns saddle, it's the one on the NewR3.com ad on the top of the page. It sits lower and further back than a stock seat. The front saddle horn fits higher on the tank and leaves a wear mark that shows when I go back to the stock gel seat. It's deffinatlely hard and looks good when I strip the bike down for bar hopping.
