As usual I go over all my bikes pretty close during the winter. It was time to change the coolant. Been in there 2 yrs. I dropped the bottom hose to get a good flush. Looked in the pan and saw some small black chunks, felt soft and pliable. I decide to pull the radiator, and check the hoses.
On the outside they looked pretty good , inside along where they are clamped they were showing some signs of wear & tear. Called in a order and changed them out. Better do it at home ,better than a blown hose on the road.
BTW the bike is a 06 and I figure they were factory.
BTW2>> I change my brake fluid and coolant at least every two years. Cheap insurance.

I don't think i've changed mine since i've owned the bike. I do check it regularly to make sure the level is up there. Good to know...

Changed mine at the 20,000 mile mark. One was bulging at the clamp a bit more than I was comfortable with so I changed all hoses at that time.

good post to encourage me to go the whole nine with freshening up my recent purchase. As a recent convert to Rocket ownership I haven't learned the secret handshake yet so the only source I have for replacement parts is the dealership. Any of you experienced Captains out there want to give a newbe tip on where to buy quality replacement parts. As mine is a 06 standard with 20,000 sounds like I will be changing Fuel lines, radiator hoses, and dumping the stock air box.
