As for colour, I know that for cars the color dictate which type of seals the coolant is compatible with. Is it the same for motorcycle or is there a standard for bikes?

if it is red use a red vise verses, i would change the thermostata, radator cap and look at the hoses coolant should be changed every 2 years this will save you money in the long run. i also use a little pipe sealant the white liquid type for where the pipe goes on as you will seal better and prevent corrosion.
I just use the most expensive standard green coolant in the auto shop... The best coolant actually is pure water!!!! all the other stuff in it is just to stop it freezing in winter ( not an issue on the Queensland coast) + anti corrosion.I really don't think the coolant brand is anything like as important as say ,your Oil brand.
Yesterday was gorgeous and all I could find was Cycle Logic Engine Ice so that's what I put in! http://www.engineice.com/faq.html
I'll be the guinea pig for Propylene Glycol coolant....
1st Impressions:
There is virtually no smell so no way to smell coolant leak on the road....
My Rocket is Garaged for the winter and should be ok but that stuff doesn't have the freeze protection for the weather here (only -26F according to them)
I used a compatible with all coolant types to replace the fuid (50/50 premix). There are a number of makers. Prestone makes a 100,000 mile guaranteed coolant compatible with all colors.
