"Hippies" are "extinct" sheit I wish someone would have told me...this old hippie, nearly 60, is still burning the green and lovin the whisky...not much hair left though...maybe thats the first sign of extinction!

"Almost cut my hair, gettin kind of long...could have said it was in my way but I didnt and I wonder why, feel like lettin my freak flag fly"

I think as others have said they already have the over 50's experienced rider market sold on the Rocket. They need to aim at the younger cashed up market as Harley are doing. We (I just turned 40) are looking for options other than a Harley that every second bloke seems to be riding, and through aggressive marketing campaigns aimed at a younger market they may just take some of that Harley market share? At least Im sure that's what they are attempting to do. :p

If Triumph is attracting young riders while retaining its classic soul; good on-em'!
BMW traded solid innovation for gizmotronics. Now it's a chain driven, transversely mounted 1000cc in-line 4 with computerized handling that will be far to costly to ever fix/replace after warranty instead of silent, quiet shaft drives and front suspension systems that don't dive under breaking all while insulating rider from near every negative torsional force against the wheel commonly encountered.

I don't imagine you live off the tax payer like the real hippies and if you do It will be a good thing when you go the way of the rest of the hippies.

Oh my, and I thought I always got along pretty well with our Australian brethren. Every Aussie I ever met here in Alaska seemed so laid back and well...liberal. Perhaps that was the result of them being on vacation. Of course when you choose to denigrate a specific class of folk it might be expected they might defend themselves. Bruce, I have been proudly working and paying my taxes in the good ole' U.S. of A since I was 14 years old and still do. I paid over $8000.00 in US dollars last year in federal income tax and 3K in property taxes.

Why would one think you cant be a "Hippie" and still pay your own way? While being a "Hippie" I somehow managed along the way to serve my country with honor in the Infantry (Airborne) as well as obtain two college degrees. I have lots of biker friends who proudly call themselves "Hippies" and I am proud to call them my friends. And why would you wish someone would "go away" that you have never met? Seems rather mean spirited and juvenile. -Doug

Sorry if I offended you Doug. A hippie in America is obviously different to a hippie from Nimbin.

I to was a bit offended by this commit. Being A liberal in Oklahoma were used to unrealistic comments. Yes we do have very long hair even at 57. Yes we have served in the marines, and the navy. Yes we have worked all are adult life. Currently working as a tig welder on military aircraft. Do we dance to main stream America not really.

Like I said an American hippie is apparently different to an Australian hippie. I too had long hair until I got sick of looking after it but there's no way in the world I would have ever described myself as a hippie. If you read my first post you will see I said I don't imagine you live off the tax payer (as the fair dinkum Nimbin hippie does in Australia).

A liberal in OK?
So you are one of the seven liberals in that state!
The ONLY state where NO COUNTIES voted for Obozo! :D
God bless Oklahoma!
I'll bet you do indeed occasionally get some crap, hopefully friendly.
