Clutch gone after 2 months......

The slipping on decel is really just an added bonus. It’s the torque assist that is the real benefit from this set up. It uses the torque of the engine to pull the plates together, and therefore doesn’t require as many springs, and has many advantages over a conventional set up. They last longer, enable a lighter lever pull and generally require less maintenance. And it does it all through its simple design. The one drawback seems to be you shouldn’t do burn outs with TC engaged, which owners are made aware of in the owners manual. Now you’re suggesting there should be even more electronic intervention for the sole purpose of making the clutch lever heavier while loosing the other benefits too???
Maybe I"m wrong but I don't see the clutch lasting longer as it is constantly engaging and releasing when throttle is increased and decreased. Seems you also loose the engine braking ability.

A slipper clutch doesn't keep slipping. It smooths out the initial bite on downshift,
and engine decel. should remain the same, I would think.

Triumph should think of a slipper clutch for the slipper clutch. What easily off the attention goes is that our locomotive, unproperly called bike, with a 2.3 respectively 2.5 liters engine is NOT to be treated the same as a sport bike, realm where the slipper clutches were called into existance.
It takes more than putting different parts together to get a real great product.

I will keep watching how Triumph understands, or simply doesn't, the business they are in. I believe they try to align their business model to the sinking ship that HD is.

Traction control is just that isnt it?...But what the hell do i know?......seems to me, when we were puppies on our Bonnies...Beezers...etc...putting the front wheel against a wall without having to hold the front brake when doing a burnout was a real hoot!...at worse we stretched the chain and took many miles of rubber off the tyre...

:banghead: There’s so much wrong with that post that I don’t know where to start. But a wise old man will be pleased that I know where to stop. ;)
Sorry if I've frustrated you, hopefully you can work past that and share your thoughts. Seriously, I'm here to learn.

Triumph loves hoonigan advertising, but be careful
