Clutch gone after 2 months......

Ok, I've not finished my morning coffee yet, but can somebody here explain to a dumbass (me) how TC being enabled takes out a clutch? I thought traction control would lower power by cutting fuel and/or spark and maybe changing ignition timing. How does the clutch get involved?
Triumph put a monkey inside which pulls a lever that slips the clutch when the rear wheel makes squeaky noises, you have two free events and on the third the monkey will **** your clutch and you have to buy the monkey a new clutch to **** with. This is how Triumph decided to make money, if you can't sell as many motorcycles as Honda does, just sell so many clutches priced as a motorcycle. I find it pretty clever.

I've just given up guys. I could chase this through the legal ways but they'll just keep coming at me with the "wear and tear" and that clutches are not covered.

Got a call from the Australian Distributer yesterday to say he will sell the replacements parts to the dealer cheaper so the costs are not as high for me. $2000 (AUD) for a clutch replacement on this bike was the original bill. Now with no parts in Australia, I also have to wait a while - no idea how long.

Thanks for the support here guys. Great people and great forum to be on.

Hopefully will be back on my "cruiser" soon. I've taken the "power" adjective out of it for the R 3. Seriously, if she wasn't so beautiful a bike (and I love that engine), I would be back on a Diavel in heartbeat. I'll wait a while now and see how others go with performance tuning and parts. To scared to move on that right now.

I really like my Touring but lately I've been thinking about adding something lighter, (but still with big power) to my garage. I started considering the Diavel or Vmax or H2 and also the new Rocket but this issue with your clutch and also the disappointing way Triumph has handled it raises serious doubts in my mind about the Rocket and will probably push Triumph out of the running.
Sad.
I hope once it's fixed you can get many enjoyable miles out of your bike.

Ok, I can see that. I assume every time the TC kicks in the computer shocks the monkey in the ass, causing him to pull the lever and partially release the clutch. So riddle me this, Batman, if actuating TC is hard on the clutch, does that mean owners should limit how often they activate it because it apparently shortens clutch life? Do you avoid Rain mode, because it kicks in even sooner?

I’ve only used rain mode once. I really don’t think the TC is a clutch issue since I believe the ECU shuts fuel down to reduce wheel spin.

I think we need a tongue in cheek emoji. :) Shutting down fuel and/or spark is how I think it works too, I'm honestly asking for someone to explain to me Triumph's position on how trying to lay rubber with TC on demolished the clutch on Rock Ape's bike and apparently a few others, 'cause so far I'm having to plead stupid, yer honor.

Standing by corner 3 at Laguna while WSBK riders powered out really impressed me with how TC could work and I've never seen or heard of it causing clutch issues.

Hi, I don't think you will het the back wheel t spin unless you take out the fuse for the ABS.
I've 4k miles on my Rocket TFC and done a few "launch" starts with shift assist too and no issue, but can't spin the rear or wheelie with the fuse in place.
Dyno run showed 156.44HP and 142ft/lbs and clutch still ok.
Hoping you are just unlucky, but why not write direct to the factory and get parts quicker?
I've called about an issue I had and got a call back from a director and offer a loan bike while my issue was sorted.
And I believe that if you apply front brake, a percentage of rear brake will apply. So if you attempt to light up the rear tyre there will be a lot of load. Might be wrong.

Great bikes there on your list wjb. Having owned a Diavel for a while, I can certainly recommend them. I haven't ridden the new one but I hear it's amazing. It's on my list. :)

Why not write to the factory? No confidence left in Triumph but I hear with Covid, motorbike parts and supplies (even helmets) at the moment are all slow in coming to Australia. Why they don't have any in stock I suppose is the question. Must be something super special with the clutch as I asked the dealer to check out something more heavy duty for me and they said nothing available for this bike. Who knows?!

Ànd that there is why so many modern bikes have several warnings about applying the front brake and doing a burn out. And I think this is the cause of @Rock Ape 's clutch failure. Hence my previous comment about placing the front wheel against an immovable object.
I know on my BMW, there is no way to disable this unless you have the Enduro plug-in module and select Enduro Pro mode which disables every electronic assistance.
