Has anyone out there in R3 land had their wheels chrome plated? Also has anyone had their brake disc polished and if so did it affect braking? Thanks in advance for any input.

I "polished" my brake disc's/rotors with a flap grinder @ 40 grit!!!! Made em grab better/quit squealing  :whitstling:

Thanks for that feed back EasTexRIII, I wonder if I have my brake discs polished to a mirror finish to match the chrome plating I plan to have done on my wheels, will it have the same affect as you got using a flat grinder @ 40 grit???

Don't do it. No grip and will eventually score up anyway. Polish the centres if you wish but not the disk itself.

Zackly what he said - That's why the grinder... to rough it up - Opposite of polish

Wow!!! That is good to know Blackthou, and I will take your advice. If I do anything to my discs I will follow EasTexRIII advice. Have either of you ever seen a R3 with Chromed Wheels?

Not chromed but you can polish them up nearly as good. Perhaps get them professionally polished then laquered.
