Chrome oil tank....

I have a 2004 R3. I acquired a cheap-ish chrome oil tank then discovered that there are two types... One Up to VIN 237540 which is what my R3 is (p/n A9733603) and the other from VIN 237541 (p/n A9730136) which is the new tank I have. what I acquired. Does anyone know what the differences are and if my lovely shiny tank will fit my old R3? I don't want to get it all in bits to find out!!

Tanks are NOT interchangeable due to different size pipes which locate in the engine block.
