G'day not sure if this is the right place to post but anyhow

After staring at my beautiful machine a bit I noticed this cap on the engine that didn't look right, I'm wondering if the chrome coming off is common? is it easy to replace? will it cost a lot?

I haven't had that happen but there are other so called chrome plastic hole fillers that have lost their chrome and ended up black, I also know that a couple guys have lost that cap all together it is apparently just a cover, if your bike is still under warranty hit up the dealer for new one

Plastic was never really meant to be chrome plated. Take it to the Dealer , in 8 or 12 weeks they'll have a new one for you .. until then stop looking at it if you can :p

Brand new bike; shouldn't cost you a cent. Show the dealer and do what TC says - don't look at it (and/or get creative ie. start customising :D ).

a little while back i dropped past my dealer ( Peter Stevens - Melbourne) for some reason - cant really remember. A fella that works for Triumph there (Matt Olle) came out and said gday. He noticed the chrome on one of my mirrors had a slight bubble that he pointed out. He went inside and got (cant remember if it was one or two) brand new mirrors and replaced it/them for me. :)

I said it wasn't an issue but he insisted and reminded me that it is a Triumph and that is not good enough.

I reckon with that attitude your dealer will be happy to know you've had an issue and get it sorted as soon as they can. Let them know.

Just a cover for the bolt, I'm home next Friday and I've got a few sent to me by mistake (was after the rocker cover ones) if you don't have any luck pm me your address and I'll send you one

Thanks mate very kind of ya!

I got the bike second hand so I'm not sure how charitable a dealer will be but no harm in asking, if not I'm sure it wont cost a heap.

Cheers

Sorry mate, I thought it was new. No matter though; a second hand bike is still covered by warranty. It transfers with ownership.
