hi all
this afternoon was looking into a speaker issue and raised the tank on my 2008 R3T --- means I had to disconnect the gauges on tank... any way put it all back together now get a CEL --- so opened tuner and getting code P1690 CAN-BUS connection ---- any ideas what this is? sitting at bike now with laptop so can do lots of quick tries..

They don't do a 180 but they move out of the way so you don't need to unplug them. I've had the tank up on my 08R3T multiple times and never unplugged gauges.
I installed the GI Pro with ATRE and now I have code P1690; when I reset the code, it comes on again. 2014 R3T. I checked all the Gi PRO connections with an ohm meter and re-connected the plug for the tank gages. The bike seems to run fine, just the check engine light is on. It still occurs with the GI PRO in the - off setting or in the 3 setting. Any suggestions?
Not sure if this will help but you may have a indication fault up but no issue (like a residual from unplugging them) Does everything work and the bike start? If so stopping and starting the bike may self clear the fault. I'm not too familiar with CANBUS but we have used it at work a couple of times. It may be unplugging the gauges caused the items address, or number, to be lost temporarily on the BUS it should relink and clear itself.

Tomorrow night I may try removing the black/pink wires and connecting them together outside the GI Pro plug, effectively disconnecting the GI Pro and see if the code will reset.
