Carpenter Sidewinder Exhaust Installation - Help Needed I think

Mully, as Paul has said, I'm sure that between us all we can set up a mounting bracket that will work well with your SuperTrap.

R III R Turbo that is the sexiest mod for the rocket I have ever seen in fact I had to go and take a cold shower, looks fantastic on the bike a lot better than the whole block piece.
THE aluminum manifold is used to produce more HP and is machined to create the best transition from the exhaust port to the 2 inch header pipe

Hey Art,
Why are the Carp headers held together with springs and not welded as most other headers seem to be?

Dude, surely we can work a bracket for you to better support the muffler ?

I REALLY appreciate ya'lls help! I will let you know if I need some help on my endeavor to mount the muffler solid. I'm going to work on it tomorrow .... wish me luck.

maybe so but not as sexy:D

MOST of the headers we install come with springs that hold the systems together and BOB likes them. BUT we could weld everything together if necessary its easy enough.

Springs holding exhaust systems together came from the race track.
If a pipe was damaged or a header has to come off in a hurry, un-clip the springs and it's off.
The transition to road pipes was like a lot of Race Track technology, it was "cool", "I've got a RACE pipe on my bike/car etc"
Bob is well know for building max power, so for him to specify springs to hold everything together is in line with that performance style.
(Just my opinion of coarse)

Personally, I don't like this set up on a road machine as over time the joints will wear as the springs do allow movement, this in turn will cause leaks.
I prefer to weld every thing together so there are no joints anywhere in the system.
It all requires a lot more precision of coarse, but that's not difficult.
Interestingly, I would never weld a Muffler to a header pipe, as it will always break !
Besides breakage, if you were unfortunate to drop the bike and flatten the muffler, as a separate component you can then just replace the muffler.

YEP Ive mentioned he weld the pipes or offer them both ways as some customers want the springs so that said you can ask for a welded set and it could be done and some have used T clamps on the header to manifold joints and no springs I would like a set of finned clamps on the header pipes

I gotta ask, what are "T" clamps?
