NO others with the modded bikes get the same mileage

Stock my R3 averaged 33-34 mpg, after intake, exhaust, and tune it was 29-30. Since the 265 Carpenter kit it's usually 36. The best I've gotten was running 85-95 mph on the interstate for 2 tanks and got 37.5 mpg on both.

YES thats good for the high speeds you were running I cruise around 75 mph

It actually does better between 85-95 than 75-80. I guess it's a better rpm range for the way the motor is set up.

And to get the kind of airflow through the exhaust you'd need for 240, you probably (?) wind up with quite a lot of noise, and I actually use my Touring to... well, do Touring.

Same here, I'd never get rid of my Rocket, or go back to stock, but I need something quieter for touring. I'd love a Trophy, but I'm too old and close to retirement to take on a payment, so IDK.

WELL if Im trying to save fuel I cruise along with traffic 65 to75 mph then I get great mileage

Stick a baffle on the end of that megaphone you will be amazed what the one I have has done for trips. Or should I say Tripps

Perhaps if your driving really slow
I think the more performance you make car or bike the less gas mileage your get.
Warp9.9 yours have a supper charger on must be crazy fast, if your driving it normal what's your adverage? And if you get on her once in a while how much does she drink? Is it a night and day difference?

NO I get better mileage with my modded bike so maybe your bikes not tuned correctly

My 240 Carpenter engine gets around 40MPG if your nice say like 65 maybe 70 MPH I would speculate that after 3000 rpms the fuel mileage drops to 37 or so. Not bad really but I must be honest my wrist is messed up and has a hard time not having fun so 40 is only on trips. anything else Art says is really funny because his bike always runs the better then anyone's bike on this site. Just ask him. It's like the bike does not move much in a parking lot

HA yes it does and thats probaly due to the fact I dont run a big windsheild or bags that are loaded with 100lbs of ? or engine guards with those big highway pegs and spot lights and I dont run a baffle or sissy bar and luggage rack or back rests or a 150 front tire I run a 130 and I weigh 175LBS not 300 lbs so add it all up and no wonder I get better mileage its not ROCKET SCIENCE LOL

IM sure STEEL and his bike with all the luggage etc etc weighs 300lbs more than Me and my bike so IM sure I get better gas mileage and thats no surprise is it ?
