This is great.. I’m actually looking forward to getting this done. Been living with this crap for a long... long time now. Be nice to get the hands back...

Good luck, let us know how you make out, I need it done also!!
You can always rehab by doing the five knuckle shuffle over and over again!! Unless that’s what got you their in the first place!!! Lol

Lol.... ya.....well.... hands kept going numb... could never finish....:whitstling:

Yup...that was my problem. Numb hands and arms at night plus the feeling in the tips of my two middle fingers were getting numb. The nerves were getting permanent damage. Not quite perfect now, but it is better. Also, I was starting to lose muscle around my left thumb. Never wait too long...get it done early. I'm good now.

Understood...not quite sure how much damage to the nerves I’ve done because I’ve waited so long. I guess we will see in time. Funny thing, I’ve ignored a lot of things over the years.. one of the big ones was my snoring. Went in for sleep apnea testing just to find out i would stop breathing 61 times per hour. After I got my litt buddy (CPAP machine) changed my life. For the first time in years I slept through the night. My wife is happy now too. Now I’m getting all those little things looked after. Pride...stubourn...call it what you will but you are correct Sir...never wait too long.

im sure there are a few out there that have had this procedure done, just curious, how long before you could ride again?

Thanks
Hi Kevin,

I had both wrists done about 15 years ago. Was up and running after about 10 days although as the years have passed I have noticed fatigue sets in quicker and the grip is not as strong. I just fitted Kuryakin ISO grips with wankers wrist support on my 2013 Roadster and it really helps.

When I had the opportunity I asked the surgeon how long it would take before I would be able to play the piano. He said 2 weeks which was goid seeing as I never played the piano before.

All the best for the op.

Had mine done two years and opted for the more invasive surgery because the wait time was only 2 weeks versus 3 months for the surgery through the small opening (maybe that’s the keyhole mentioned). You can watch the surgeries on YouTube. The worst part was the surgeon had an intern participating so he explained it ‘might’ take slightly longer than the usual 20 to 30 minutes. I should have known it wouldn’t go smoothly when the intern lost his grip on the heavy elastic band he was using to wrap my hand/wrist to drain the blood out and he struck me in the face! With all the yakking going on between the surgeon and foreign intern, the freezing started to wear off. He decided to give me more and THAT injection hurt like a mother!!! The surgeon gave me another 10 days of Oxycontin and I only used 3 days worth and felt very little pain. Like mentioned, the flexibility exercises are important. I had been on Oxy for more than a month and the week I came off that was the strangest week of nighttime sweats and nightmares I EVER had. All good ever since.

Thats a great story...I’ll be on a local as well, same reason, get in quicker.

Well, had the left hand done yesterday. 30 minuets total I think. After 24 hrs not too bad, index finger is still numb but I have to say I don’t feel too bad. Doc told me to start the exercises as quick as possible as long as it was comfortable. I see what you folks mean, I can move my fingers fine but no strength. Counting down till I can pull the clutch.;)

I waited too long and had both done at the same time (less expensive in the US). Fitted Kuryakin ISO grips ever since an the throttle master i just added helps a lot.

In the 15 or so years since I had it done I have noticed loss in grip and now have complete loss I sensation of the little finger on my left hand.
