Had mine done two years and opted for the more invasive surgery because the wait time was only 2 weeks versus 3 months for the surgery through the small opening (maybe that’s the keyhole mentioned). You can watch the surgeries on YouTube. The worst part was the surgeon had an intern participating so he explained it ‘might’ take slightly longer than the usual 20 to 30 minutes. I should have known it wouldn’t go smoothly when the intern lost his grip on the heavy elastic band he was using to wrap my hand/wrist to drain the blood out and he struck me in the face! With all the yakking going on between the surgeon and foreign intern, the freezing started to wear off. He decided to give me more and THAT injection hurt like a mother!!! The surgeon gave me another 10 days of Oxycontin and I only used 3 days worth and felt very little pain. Like mentioned, the flexibility exercises are important. I had been on Oxy for more than a month and the week I came off that was the strangest week of nighttime sweats and nightmares I EVER had. All good ever since.
