camshaft JIG.CAM TIMING tool dimensions

Can anyone tell me the dimension of the tool for locking the camshasfts (PFKL1218431 JIG.CAM TIMING.2294CC ENGINE)as i can make one .

I lone mine out to another Captain who broke it. He has anther one on order but let me stt if I still have any dimension of it to post.
Oh and if I find them they will be in english standar so you will have to convert them for metrics sorry. Metrics ar only good when referrignnt o wanker length 6.0" x 25.4 = 152.4 now thats a big number

if your timing is good you can measure up when piston 1 is at TDC, and make the tool, before slacking off tension etc. i did this with my spare engine
my measurements were 88mm centre to centre of the dowels that go into the holes on cam sprockets, those dowels were 6mm, and their centres were 16mm up from the flat of the head where the jig sits. now these measurements are not taken from triumphs tool just my fabricated one

man why doesnt my edit function work. here's the engine to illustrate. scott if you are interested i have a shot of the clutch lift parts from this black 06 engine, didnt they make changes around then?

Just a quick note the dowel hole on each cam are of different heigth off the deck of the head.
I am looking thru my photo bucke tfiles for the pictures.
Arto the Captain that borrow the timming fixture has a new one on order for me. I think he broke one of the pins but wanted to return one to me undamaged so he ordered it from triumph instead of just trying to replace the pin. I can wait and am quite alright with his choice of returning a new one to me instead of a fixed one. I di the same with IDK sockets for taking the engien out. One of the catle lock nuts was so tight the socket split so I ordered a new one and sent it back withthe other tools.

If your timing is good? Even if you idle the motor down to 600 rpm you only have a tenth of a second to get that measurement. Now that's gonna take really good timing. :Badger:

i meant that if the timing was off then you can't make a jig based on it. if the timing is bang on then you can, like making a mould from the article instead of the other way around?
