Help - Calling On This Community For A Little Help From Our Friends
I have had the good fortune of befriending a fellow member from this site, namely, Georgia Hilton, who goes by the handle "georgia" here. Geo is an extraordinarily talented and diverse person. A member of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts & Sciences, she's also a hell of a rider and an all around good person who is alot of fun to be around. Amongst other things, she is an accomplished sound editor, sound studio engineer, film/video post production wizard who is currently in the process of building her own full-blown production company.
Well, about two weeks ago she learned of a contest that was being sponsored by Carly Simon, an American music icon, involving her new CD which includes a re-recording of her biggest hit from the seventies,Your So Vain. Because the original song never had a music video, Carly thought it would be interesting to have independent filmmakers and videographers compete to make the official music video for the re-released version of her song.
Although the contest commenced back in February, geo didn't learn about it until two weeks ago. Amazingly, with a little help from her friends, she quickly conceived her entry and then produced it in about 5 days with a budget that was less than the cost of 2 Metzeler 240s!
It was a great pleasure for me to assist Georgia in a small way with producing this video and an even greater kick to actually appear in it (around 3:05 into the video) as the "underworld spy" mentioned in the song. There were over 100 entries to the contest and we have been selected as one of five finalists. The overall winner will be revealed at Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Film Festival in NYC within the next week. In fact, Georgia was contacted two days ago by Carly Simon's record label and invited to attend a private party in the city in order to meet the artist and her retinue. We think that may be a strong hint that we are the frontrunning entry!

Please ask all of your friends and family to do the same... view the video and enter a positive comment.
You might notice that Georgia took slight artistic license with the song's original story, which was about a very vain man (rumored to be Warren Beatty, Mick Jagger or Kris Kristofferson) who dumped Carly for another girl. Please mention in your comments how much you liked the different tack we took against the old story line.
Obviously, if Georgia wins it will be a huge shot in the arm, not to mention tremendous publicity and PR for her new company. Trust me on this, guys and gals, she has earned it!!!
