Butt Burn!!!


I just can't picture how extra heat would occur from scrapping the intake crap.
I made an oval wooden plug to seal off the hole in the forward wall of the air box.
I also removed the plastic ducting and the zillion screws under the seat.
If anything I reckon any ambient engine heat would be reduced.
 

With the stock setup, you're constantly pulling in fresh air under your butt to feed the intake. That's a constant flow of "under your butt moving air", taking any heat with it. No flow of air under your butt = no air flow = heat buildup. That's my thinking anyway.
 
Custom made seat is best... but if on a limited budget (or not) try a natural sheep skin. Really helps me on long rides.
