If you're running stock air box, the constant flow of air that's being pulled in flows under the seat to feed it. Once you put Ramair or K&N pods on you lose that flow and I think it makes the seat run hotter. When I switched, I removed the under part of the seat that acted like an intake and went old school applying several layers of AL tape to help reflect some of that heat off my butt! Seems to have made a difference.

I just can't picture how extra heat would occur from scrapping the intake crap.
I made an oval wooden plug to seal off the hole in the forward wall of the air box.
I also removed the plastic ducting and the zillion screws under the seat.

If anything I reckon any ambient engine heat would be reduced.
