But it's a dry heat..

I know there are roadsters, classic, touring etc . But I don't know what years had what models available and what the differences are...I'm 6'5" and 240 ish...I just went and threw a leg over a 2011 roadster. .seemed to fit well but I'm open to suggestions. .

Not absolutely accurate or comprehensive and especially don't get too caught up with the "claimed" power output for the Roadster, but this is close enough as a starting point.

-Your east of Chandler. I gathered by the heading ...dry heat...
I'm in California, Pleasanton which is about 30 Miles north San Jose.

I considered moving to AZ last year for work. I was asked to come down and work on the new Intel plant. ..Glad I didn't.
Although I have heard they are thinking of starting up the site again.
dan

A comedian was talking about the heat in Phoenix. "I was walking down the street one day and saw a guy burst into flames, but is was a dry flame............"

Will do, where are you located? Not that it matters...I've been looking as far as new york..lol... is it in the classified section?

Alma School and Riggs Rd.

Haven't put the bike up for sale, its just a thought I'd been toying with for a bit. Not riding as much as I used to and I'm getting a bit old to heave around that much weight. If you're really interested let me know and we can talk.

Yes sir I interested. .. I'm at Riggs and power. Is there a way too contact you "off the board"?

I'm 6'3" and about 235 and the R3T is the best fit of any of the 6 touring style bikes I've owned. The close second was a '00 Yam RSV I just sold.

I'm at the point that a touring was the direction I wanted to go, but get what makes you happy.

As far as older models go I've read '08 and up had the output shaft(?) improved. But I wouldn't be nervous about earlier if it has 20k plus miles. I'd be nervous with one that was using "only 5000 miles!" As a selling point. In order for internal seals to be lubed and not dry out they have to be ridden, that's true for any bike. Especially in your "dry heat".

As far as prices go be patient and you'll get a good deal. I got lucky and found my '11 R3T in Fort Worth, TX the day I sold my Yam. It had been sitting on the dealer floor for over 2 months, because it has 66k miles. Most people get scared with those miles in a bike, especially at a dealer. They were asking $9k for it, I got it for a lot less... never hurts to haggle.

Welcome to the forum, Danny. Great group here. I purchased a 2008 tourer a few months ago and it had all of the issues taken care of by the previous owner, including the ignition switch and relay. I suggest that you sit on one of each to see which one your the most comfy with. I love the Roadster but I didnt care for the seating position too much. I need floorboards as well. The Tourer fit the bill although I did need a riders back rest as well as risers. Like Comatose, I too had a 99 Yamaha Venture, which I sold back in Jan. The Rocket came to me shortly after. The Venture fit me real nice but I needed something newer and a little less top heavy.

I agree prescott is way nicer! cooler, smaller, etc...but...I have to follow the $ and thats here in hell..er chandler

My folks have been trying to convince me to move us and the kids down there. I'd much prefer Prescott or Flagstaff, even Showlow/Lakeside would be nice.

But, just like Danny Boy said, gotta go where the $ is.
