**** does happen i have riding bike for along times i fixed them broke them pushed them for miles before cell phones i am just venting my unhappnies with what is going on

Feel free to vent man. If it were my bike and I was a long way from home on a basically brand new bike I would be pissed too.

Their quality control needs adjustment. I couldn't understand how a major part of the braking system, e.g. my brake line, was not tested for leaks. I'll say one thing, Triumph seems to try to get ya roll'n. I hope your dealer stops all the bull****. One thing I hate. A lousy liar. A good liar or someone that doesn't mean to bother is one thing, but a lousy liar,??? Ha They ain't no good. Ya know what really burns my ass? A fire, about three feet tall!!
Stop by Maggie Valley on your way home.

here is latest update bike has a broken shaft in clutch cover.if you what to see page 4.4 service manuel pdf file. the dealer said it was only the 2nd one he has seen. i would have rather been 1st but i guess 2nd not to bad i think that some one said that a clutch that was out of adjustment could cause this. don't see how a steel shaft could be the weakest point from clutch handle and the clutch basket??? dealer said bike should be ready tues. he said that when triumph sent them the parts to fix they did not send the shaft?? what did they send gasket??? and he had to take shaft out of another cover. confused i know i am will keep every one posted. stuck in cape coral

Search the tech area you will find lots of stuff on the liftershaft and it breaking and wearing out do to improper adjustment. This is a critical adjustment and if it has no freeplay she will wear and need more adjustment until such a point that it is over rotated and snap goes the shaft. 2 to 3 mm free play is required. If you want to break one faster install a lock up clutch in her.

See, and you were bad mouthing the dealer and they went and cannibalized another bike just for you.

Don't you feel bad now? .... don't answer that. LOL

yeah i fell real bad they did it just for me maybe they did it because it is thier job and they are getting paid

They could have done it a week sooner since you were from out of town.

Getting something covered under warranty after making a customer wait or telling them it wasn't covered was always the kiss of death when I worked at a car dealer. Warranty customers always get a customer satisfaction questionnaire and now that they were pissed off, they totally trashed me even after I busted butt for them.

I got pretty good at deflecting the blame after my paycheck suffered a few times, but it always worked out best if I just used good judgement and fixed it ASAP if there was a chance the factory would cover it. Even if the rep said no the first time, I'd get it covered eventually through creative accounting methods.

If I would expect warranty coverage if it was mine, I'd cover it for a customer and do it fast, fast, fast. I'd have to fight the tech over it since it paid less than CP work, but they knew I'd flag some time and give it to them later. I did 6-7 hours a week myself just to have something to bribe the techs with.

Bottom line, they should have fixed it right away and worried about details later. Everyone loses when a customer fills out a bad survey.

Make a note of what the clutch feels like when you get it back, how much and where the cable play is. This way you can be sure it's adjusted right from now on and not have the problem again. If you don't have a picture in your head as to what the internal workings are, you must rely on the measurements described in the manual for proper clearances and cable play adjustments. That lever adjuster with the numbers on it shouldn't even be on the clutch, too easy for someone to spin it and muck up the works.

Glad you are gettin fixed up. If you get a survey, think hard before just throwing them under the bus.

i will not throw them under the bus i like to think that they are trying to do the best job they can i am just a little frusrated that is all i will get over it i do like the rocket and i will know how good or dad the bike is after i put more miles on it..

My 09 did the same thing with 725 miles on it. When my dealer did the repair the tech noticed that one of the bearings was missing. Lucky for me that the bearing is a common Triumph part and they had it on hand. I think I waited 2 1/2 weeks on parts. After the repair the clutch was much smoother. I now have 12k miles and no problems
