That sucks man, it is also the same reason I have yet to ride the Rocket any real long distance. I have rode my Valkyrie all over the USA and the only thing that ever failed on it was the starter switch. That failed in Daytona and honda had it fixed in a couple hours.

I have ridden mine back and forth to Daytona from Atlanta a couple times, but that is about as far as I will go, it really has little to do with the fact that I have had any problems with my Rocket and a lot more to do with the fact that getting the necessary parts for it if it does break takes awhile.

Of course a lot of other captains here have rode theirs to hell and back and had no problems to speak of as well.

Hopefully they get it sorted. Good luck.

I feel your pain, but if you were expecting a dealer in every town, you bought the wrong bike. Triumph is a small manufacturer compared to others. Many, maybe most here, would and will jump on and travel extensively. And **** can go wrong on any machine; you don't know what it is exactly, yet. It may well prove to be a badly adjusted clutch which caused the failure.

That is why I still have my Valkyrie :D, if I am going cross country, it is the bike I am riding. Even with 60 thousand more miles than my Rocket has on it.

don't expect dealer in every town how about one that won't lie to me??? as small manufacture go what difference does it make when it comes to quatily ??? i have read on this site about a lot of probelems. as for an out of ajustment clutch could be but i thought that they have been around for a while and someone would have figured out how to make one that would not BRAKE if out of ajustment???

Make one that doesn't break if it's out of adjustment? HA, that's a comment I'd never expect from an HD owner. You just described a Honda.
What doesn't break when left out of adjustment and still used? Isn't that the definition of "out of adjustment"?
That's a good one DB.

how often do you have to take it in to get clutch adjusted??? out of adjustment how far out to brake??? 4000 miles 1600 highway not a lot of shifting. this is not rocket science or maybe it is:rolleyes:

Take it in to adjust the clutch? Do you mean adjusting the cable travel? That's the only adjustment, I can see how if the cable is too tight pulling it further would snap off the head of the pin. You don't take your other bikes in for small adjustments like that do you? Things like throttle cables, handlebar adjustment, etc? Those kind of things are personal preference tweeks like positioning the mirrors.

The head snapping off was probably just a freak deal anyway, **** does happen.
