I am seriously considering a boostisgood.com turbo kit.... Anyone had experience with this kit and its vendor??? Power, reliablity, etc...

Many Thanks,

Mike...

Mike, I was initially considering that kit until I found out that they had moved away from the Aerodyne variable vane turbocharger and were using one of the Garret's (not that I have any problem with Garret, but the Aero spooled up quicker and has a self contained oil supply) I would most definitely ask which is now supplied with the kit since aero's are once again available. I haven't since researched it since I went with the IC SC from TTS. Good luck!

That sure makes for a very "stock" looking ride; as opposed to all the necessities of the SC. With your top end speed limiter upped to 270 those racers that can't already get you off the line will still be eating dust at the finish :D

I start this thread up again since I'm planning for turbo from Boost is Good.

Anyone using it today? Any reviews? +/- ?

I am only looking for more torque and do like the clean look with that turbo

I have had 14,000 trouble free miles with the kit. Put the kit on with 16K on the bike, now just turned 30K yesterday. Just replaced the air filter once. Yes it uses the Garrett turbo that is oil fed from the R3. Input hose from a custom fittng on the oil filter and return to the third plug back in the drain pan. Only thing is that you will get blue exhaust for a short time untl the turbo warms up because of its internal design. They switched to Garrett because of the availability of the Aerocharger turbo. The Garrett works out for me because the brothers that own my Triumph dealership, who also installed the kit, owned a trucking company that had a fleet of Freightliner trucks which used Garrett turbos. So they had alot of experience with them. I pull 200HP at the rear wheel and 217 ft/lbs of torque. Machine is a blast to ride... You will need Tuneboy and PowerCommander III for the Rocket which isn't included in the kit. The PowerCommander DynoJet hub and boost sensor, however, is included. BoostisGood will provide the tuneboy, PowerCommander, and Dynojet Hub tune files.

I have an 06 Classic with a BoostIsGood Turbo. I bought the bike with the turbo on it. It had been installed by the original Triumph dealership that sold the bike new. I bought the bike with just over 5k miles and now have just over 10k miles. I love it. Very "streetable". No snatchy effects just as smooth as you twist the throttle with lots of arm stretch. I believe that mine was one of the very early units from Boostisgood. I have done a few small upgrades because of that. I have talked to Bryan many times and he has always been happy to give me info whenever I called. Keep in mind I didn't buy the turbo from him. The original owner did and Bryan has stood behind the turbo and helped whenever I asked. High marks from me on that issue.

One negative is that the turbo does have an oil odor. Smells like burning oil and my wife doesn't like it. Not sure what to about the odor. No leaks and has been checked by several shops.

Dynoed at 196 hp at the rear wheel and 202 lb. ft. of torque. Very strong and very quick.

As I understand it Bryan is developing a "Stage 2" kit that will be around 225 hp at the rear wheel and will have an intercooler.

Thank you gents, your opinions are worth so much more then any salesman :)

Anyone else using Boost is Good?

Hey guys.... I have a line on a RIII about 2 hours north of me with a turbo with less than 12,000 miles... I "might" go and look @ it this weekend, SO... what do I need to look for...????
