Black Triumph Teardrop Mirrors on R3?

I have decided to live with the vibration until I can come up with something to fix the problem because I really like the looks of the teardrop mirrors. I assume the inserts you used didnt solve the problem. I was going to follow your lead if this corrected it.
This tells me that it's the physical charistics of the mirror rather than the tightness or looseness of the mirror. Having seen that more than one person has had the vibration problems it would seem Triumph would have caught the problem before releasing the mirrors to the public.

I attempted a fix by removing one mirror and inserting a rubber plumbing washer around the stem but found that it didn't help at all. I'm thinking that having a heavier bar ends would knock the vibration out since they do seem a little light side IMHO compared to ones on other bikes. I don't know what else to try right off the bat. Maybe someone might come up with something.

I've been paying more attention to mine since you started this thread and I still haven't had any bad vibes at any engine speed. I wonder if your screen is affecting them at all??

I have the Black Teardrops on my classic and the Chrome Rectangle on the standard. On my bikes the rectangle mirrors are more clear at highway speeds. But the teardrops are OK at highway speeds.

There's the weird ass vibration on the Roadster again. Mine has done that since new Triumph shop says they all do it. We are not the only one's that have noticed it.

I just reread your post you were talking about the bike and not your arse?

I've got the black tear drops no vibration . The last triumph I had that vibrated the mirrors was way back in 1972 on my 750 bonneville .i reckon it was pretty cool sitting at traffic lights the bike idling away and the mirrors vibrating away .

The tear drops do have a wider field of view at lower speeds but fold up once a warp field is generated becoming a pretty useless, but Hey it is a nice looking mirror
